Smelly Washer Cleaner Review (My New Best Friend)

When we purchased our new home we were super excited to have a new front-load washer- well after a few uses we werent so excited anymore. We started noticing a funny smell, particularly in our towel loads. We tried everything and nothing seemed to work- until now- introducing my new best friend: Smelly Washer Cleaner!!! Simple to use, works FABULOUSLY, and is all natural!

I admit, I probably (ok I do) know the reason our washer started to get that funny smell. I accidentally left a load of towels in the washing machine for an entire WEEK. Yes an entire week-doh! DH was back home visiting family and I apparently put washing on the back burner. Well we were having a heck of a time getting the smell out of the machine- until we started using Smelly Washer Cleaner!!!

Smelly Washer Cleaner is used by adding a level cap (1 tbsp.) to a hot setting and allowing the cycle to complete. Most users find this will remove odor from any top or front loading washer. Worse cases will need more than 1 cleaning and even soaking to remove the odor-causing buildup. For more information read our featured articles on their blog page. After the clothes washer has been cleaned it's time to concentrate on removing that offensive mildew smell from your towels and clothing!

The advantages of Smelly Washer Cleaner over competitors are
  • Smelly Washer Cleaner is all natural!  They use no dyes or fragrances!
  •  Each bottle contains 24 treatments compared to 1-3 per industry standards-thats enough to last you an ENTIRE year!
  • Smelly Washer Cleaner will also safely and easily remove odor-causing mold from towels and clothing after the washer has been cleaned.
Head on over to the Smelly Washer website to get more information or to pick yourself up some of their fabulous products! In addition to their awesome Smelly Washer Cleaner, they also offer Smelly Towel Cleaner, and Smelly Dishwasher & Disposal Cleaner. All are simple to use and work great! Stay tuned for full reviews of all the Smelly Washer products and an upcoming giveaway!

P90X Legs & Back Review & Kitty Litter Cake

Cake Order: I have to admit this is pretty gross but hey I aim to please. Ordered for someones boss' birthday. I hope she liked it LOL. Its a classic white cake, peaches & cream filling, and peach buttercream, topped w/ tootsie rolls & cookie crumbs....yum? lol

P90X Legs & Back Advice: So since I dont have a pull up bar I had the genius idea to put a stretchy band over the door- bad idea. Bad idea as in: DO NOT DO THIS. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU DO THIS. LOL you know that band snapped back in my face as hard as it probably could. Then (somehow) rebounded or slipped from my face to my chest smacking that as hard as could be. My lips were numb (& huge and swollen) and I had a HUGE welt across my face & chest. I was literally shocked and appalled as if someone had actually slapped me. LMAO maybe it was Tony...

Today's Review: P90X Legs & Back
Tony Horton, 2004 **** (3.5 of 5 stars)

This is a 59 minute lower body & back workout. Tony works out w/ 3 backgrounders in a dim gym set. You will need dumbbells or a band, a chair, and a pull up bar or band for this workout. I dont have a pull up bar and dont have a stable area to loop the band so I just did row variations- which was fine. One backgrounder provides modifications. This dvd also has Ab Ripper X on it which I will review separately later.

This workout is set up to do 20-25 reps of most of the exercises. Most of the lower body work is unweighted- you can easily grab dumbbells to up the intensity. They show pull ups w/ a chair to assist, w/out a chair and band pullups (though you still need something sturdy to hook your band to).

Exercises include: a warmup and LONG stretch, elevated rear leg lunges, calf raise squats, body wt skater, wall sit, plenty of pull up and chin up variations, side lunge, dips, toe lunges, chair pose, static lunge w/ a rear leg shift, low pliet walk, calf raises, 1 leg hop squats, lunge kick combos, and ends with a cooldown & stretch.

I rate this a high intermediate workout for the lower body and I even added weights to many of the lower body exercises. As far as back- its gotta be advanced if you are able to do the pullups- since I did row variations, it wasnt as challenging. I think you could easily make this advanced by adding poundage to the lower body work. This workout moves right along but is not rushed at all. Tony provides plenty of different exercises and new spins on exercises that there is no boredom and the time really goes by quickly.

Today's Tip: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Your comfort zone that is. What is your 'typical' routine, workout or otherwise? Lately, I've been seeking out things that will challenge me both physically, mentally and even spiritually. I'm trying to meditate longer in the morning, or find time to drink tea and just sit and be quiet. I did a kick *ss ViPR class at Equinox in Los Angeles (I couldn't sit on a toilet for days! But it was a *good* sore!) and I recently attended yoga workshops that cracked a door to unchartered territory which I'm yearning to discover. It's scary because I have no knowledge of where these new paths will lead, or worse, lead me down a path that is completely different then one I envision for myself. But I'm going to try to push past the fear and blow that door wide open. Will you do it with me? What brings up fear for you? Let's face it together. Read more on LivWhole.com

Review:  RapidFire: Results: A Total Body Kickboxing Workout
Susan Chung, 2011 ***** (5 of 5 stars)

Susan leads this 77 minute workout in a kickboxing gym with 4 background exercisers. This dvd is chaptered exceptionally well and includes plenty of great premixes. This workout requires dumbbells and an optional medicine ball &  weighted gloves are also used. One exerciser shows beginner & equipment modifications and one shows advanced modifications.

Rounds 1-4 are kickboxing & cardio drills- (optional weighted gloves), round 5 is a lighter weight metabolic weight section (dumbbells), and round 6 is a standing & floor core section (med ball).

There are lots of different punches & kicks put together into moderately choreographed routines. Susan adds in intensity bursts throughout to get the heart rate up. Cardio: punches & kicks, flying kicks, knee strikes, skater & punch, jump & kick, 180 jumps, burpee Mt climbers, jacks. Strength work: squat & lat raise & kicks, pliet upright row add a hop, lunge and bi curl, squat & hammer curl, curtsy & tri work, squat overhead press, etc. Core work: weighted elbow to knee pull down, weighted twist, med ball chops, V sit & crunch ball toss, oblique ball press, sit up w/ ball chop, etc. And the workout includes a warmup & cooldown.

I would rate this a solid to high intermediate workout. that is very easy to amp up or down to suit the needs of most all exercisers. Susan is obviously a pro-kickboxer and has a fantastic on-screen presence. I really like her personality. She does a great job of incorporating higher intensity moves into fun kickboxing combos to keep the heart rate up. I received this dvd to review.

P90X: Plyometrics Review & Wilton Goods

From Before: I did this Wilton forum thing and for my participation I got a $100 prize pack from Wilton. I got all these awesome goodies!  I didnt have any of them yet so very cool. I cant wait to try them out :) Theres a bunch of stuff- a gumpaste tool kit, various fondant molds, a fondant press, & a water brush!

Great News: I applied to become a Wilton instructor (to teach cake decorating classes) & I got accepted. I'm in their database now so when/if a position becomes available in my area they will call me. Hopefully something will come up that I can do along with my current job soon!

Today's Review: P90X Plyometrics Review
Tony Horton, 2004 ***** (4.5 of 5 stars)

This is a 58 minute cardio workout led by Tony in a dim gym set with 3 background exercisers. You will only need an optional chair for this workout. One exerciser shows modifications and Tony offers mod's & encourages resting when needed. There is a countdown timer for the workout and specific exercise duration on the bottom of the screen.

This workout includes a lot of high impact, high intensity exercises but Tony does a great job of mixing in plenty of lower impact & lower intensity exercises keeping it very doable. Each round consists of three 30 second higher intensity exercises, 1 60 second lower intensity exercise, repeated and then followed by a rest break.

Exercises include: a warmup and stretch, jump squat, skater, high swing kick, floor touch 180 jumps, circle run, plyo lunges w/ pulses, frog hops, squat jacks, long leaps, rock star jumps, lo shuffle, low 180 jumps, squat hops to floor touch, monster & normal tire run, and military march. Concludes with some sports moves: pitch & catch, jump shot, football drill, and a cooldown & stretch.

I rate this an advanced workout but not super advanced- it is very doable and there are plenty of lower intensity exercises added in. Tony is chatty but I dont find him annoying at all-actually amusing. The time really flys in these workouts and Tony keeps everything moving along smoothly. Plenty of different exercises to prevent boredom but not at all scattered.

Todays Tip: Healthy Drink- Nutty Smoothies

Nuts, which are high in protein and fiber, make a healthy afternoon snack, but they're also nourishing whipped into a smoothie. According to certified nutritionist Angela Pifer, smoothies made using ingredients like cashew milk, protein powder, and nut butter help elevate your blood sugar levels. “A 3 p.m. slump is not innate to us,” Pifer says. “Since food gives us energy, it’s more of a problem with our blood sugar dropping.” Read more on Shape

I recently had the pleasure to review the Zone Diet! I started last Monday. I have not been hungry-that is my #1 pet peeve. Surprisingly, it is not what you think. The Zone Diet is a way of life that helps you lose fat and increase wellness by reducing cellular inflammation. The Zone Diet was developed by Dr. Barry Sears, one of the world's leading authorities on the hormonal effects of food and their effect on cellular inflammation. At Zone Labs we continue to create a number of unique dietary products that make it easier to follow the Zone Diet. If you want to retake control of your life, then reducing cellular inflammation is your necessary first step. When you are ready, we can help.
