This is a 57 min chaptered nonstop cardio & strength interval workout. Michelle works you through basecamp, ascent, climb, and finally you max out in the peak phase. The basecamp & ascent are strength moves & the climb & max are cardio. You will need dumbbells for this workout. Michelle works out w/ 6 b/g exercisers and modifications are shown.


There is no warmup in this but the 10 first block doesnt contain peaks. Exercises include: dip-clean & press, side lunge & row, hi knees, double jogs, burpee gorilla crawls, side plank hip drops, pushups, tri pushups, plyo lunge & bi curl, 180 squat touch downs, shuffle & seal jacks, side lunge & diagonal raise, KB swing & hop, side plank thrusts, plank & 1 arm fly, curtsy diagonal raise, dive bomb pushups, fast side to side tuck jumps, plank donkey kicks, side knee tuck jumps, and a cooldown.


I rate this an advanced workout! I was dripping with sweat by the end. Michelle moves nonstop from exercise to exercise and most of the strength work got or kept my heart rate up. Lots of great functional core work and lots of combo moves. Love the workout & the format. Michelle is an excellent lead, great cuing & form pointers. I received this dvd to review.

Both instructors do a fantastic job w/ form pointers & their cuing is spot on. Tons of variety & time options and so many unique and fun exercises! I really enjoyed all the segments & see myself using this dvd a lot

10 Pounds Down Better Body Blast
Jessica Smith, 2011 ***** (5 of 5 stars)

This dvd has three 20-23 minute workouts, Arms, Legs, and Abs. The segments can be played together or separately from the main menu. Jessica works out alone in a studio set and you will only need dumbbells. Jessica performs a base move and then adds on to amp up the intensity. This is a lighter weight, higher rep, moderately fast paced strength workout that will get & keep your heart rate up.

Arms: Jessica performs a base move and then adds some lower body movement to up the intensity and includes some cardio intervals to get the heart pumping. Legs: Jessica performs a base move and then adds to it to up the intensity and includes some cardio intervals to get the keep pumping. Abs: This is a nonstop core routine that includes some active core workouts to get your heart working a bit. My heart rate was up in the LB & UB  segments and the cardio intervals got it up even more. REALLY like this workout and know it will get a ton of use. As always, Jessicas cuing & form pointers are spot on! I received this dvd to review.

Today's Review: Gaiam's AM & PM Yoga For Beginners
Rodney Yee & Colleen Saidman Yee, 2012

This dvd contains two 30 minute yoga workouts, one to be performed in the morning and one before bed. Both are filmed in beautiful outdoor settings and you won't need any equipment for these routines. There is a music on or off option.

AM Yoga is 28 minutes and is set on a gorgeous sandy beach with large rocks. You can see and hear the ocean in the distance. Rodney performs this routine alone and the workout is voice over. The routine is designed to gradually bring you from sleep to awake and is to specifically designed to to do upon awakening.

PM Yoga is 27 minutes and is set in a beautiful grassy prairie with mountains in the background. Colleen performs this routine alone and the workout is voice over. The routine is designed to ease you from wake to sleep, release tension, and relax. The routine is specifically designed to do before going to sleep.

The outdoor settings in these workouts are absolutely gorgeous! I love outdoor settings to begin with and these are some of the nicest Ive seen in a long time. I really like the concept of these workouts to gradually ease you into sleep or wake. Both instructors are obviously very knowledgeable about yoga. I received this dvd to review.

Vacation Pics: Before our cruise we stayed in CA for a few nights. We figured since we were driving there anyways we may as well take advantage of the weekend prior to the cruise so we stayed at the Knotts Berry Farm Resort Hotel 2 nights and went to Knotts one day. This dvd has two 40 minute C+S interval workouts on it, that you can play individually or together for one total kick butt workout! Mike works out in an open gym style set with 2 background exercisers. This is a fantastic hard-core interval workout that will burn tons of calories and work your muscles. You will only need dumbbells for this dvd.

Each cardio move is performed for 30 seconds & each strength move is performed for 60 seconds and Mike provides variations within the minute to keep things interesting and to keep your muscles guessing. You perform a block of strength exercises that really get your heartrate up and then a shorter block of cardio exercises that will get your heart pumping even harder.

Workout #1 (42 minutes) exercises include: squat & overhead press, side lunges w/ a twisting row, woodchops, dip- punch- knee up, cardio lunges, knee pulls, shuffle & punhc, skater, swings to a Y raise, overhead tri extension, tri kickbacks, lunge & extensions, grappler throws, renegade rows- hop up- windmill, crunch variations, boat pose, & finishes w/ a cooldown.


Workout #2 (45 minutes) exercises include: squat burpee- puhnsup- hop to overhead press, cardio lunges add tricep kickback, wiper curls, dumbbell circles, snatch with a cross knee pull add overhead press, mt climbers, donkey jump kicks, heisman drill, diagonal skater, crawl to plank then X jumps, lunge & row to curtsy, torso twist, spiderman pushups to reverse planks, toe drops (core), Russian twists, double crunches, toe reaches, and finishes w/ a cooldown.

These workouts are both advanced in my opinion, with number 2 being even more challenging. Mike is a great lead- lots of great form pointers & good cuing. These workouts are right up my ally- tough but fun, lots of compound movements, and nice athletic exercises that get & keep your heart PUMPING! I would consider this a medium weight - faster paced workout that is pretty much nonstop. I know I burned a TON of calories with these workouts and can not wait for more from Mike! I received this workout to review.
